There's nothing I hate more than dieting. In fact, when I was in the best shape of my life, it was because I exercised, running two miles a day. Now, my time is scarce, my energy subsides by the time I get home from work and the absolute last thing I want to consider is working out. I've gathered some tips from some skinny folk I know and now I'm sharing those tips with you.
Enjoy and happy fat burning!
Drink water. There's something about hydration that keeps your brain functioning well, so instead of grabbing chocolate at 3 pm, drink some water and eat an apple. Drink water between and with every meal. Studies have shown that drinking water with a meal will keep you from overeating. Duh.
Say no to condiments. No ketchup, barbecue sauce, mayonaise, etc. Empty calories folks. Use some flavorful and fragrant spices. Squeeze some lime or lemon juice on a salad or in your water. Add some cayenne for some kick. I have 87 spices in my cabinet and I'm just starting to figure out what they are good with (that's a whole other blog).
Avoid trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is in nearly everything you see. Skip the soda, drink the water. If you HATE water, try some flavored or carbonated water.
Fast food is the devil. Face it, it's cheap and quick and that's the ONLY plus. Those 800 calorie salads and Light Caramel Macchiatos aren't cutting it. If you have to have them, get them as a reward for all the good work you've done.
Consider a pound a week. It doesn't seem like much, but that totals 4 pounds a month and 52 pounds a year.
NEVER, ever skip a meal. If you don't like breakfast, eat a breakfast bar. If you graze like clockwork, you'll never be hungry. Just make sure you're eating small portions.
Don't eat past 7 pm. Late dinners mean a greater chance of restless sleep. If you opt for a late night dinner, grab the Special K.
